Volkswagen (VW) Crafter 2018 on Fresh Water Tank Kit
Designed specifically for VW Crafter / MAN TGE vans produced from the year 2018 onwards (this is the new shape Crafter, which no longer shares the Mercedes Sprinter chassis).
This potable tank can be used as a fresh water supply or to hold your waste water. Manufactured to WRAS approval standards all materials in this tank can safely be used for drinking water. It is made from high quality polyethylene plastic which provides excellent underfloor durability and is algae and corrosive resistant.
With a huge 82 litre capacity, this tank is ideal for Campervan, Racevan or Welfare conversions and is compatible with FWD, RWD, LWB, XLWB and 4WD variants from 2018 onwards.
Please note: The fitting brackets in the image are for illustration only and are a simple yet effective way to secure the tank using threaded bar and lashing rail. For a cost effective alternative, we stock a universal strapping kit –
This tank fits up against three chassis members underneath the van. The front and middle rails sit up against the tank, but a spacer will need to be added between the tank and third chassis rail towards the back of the van to ensure the tank sits evenly.

Filling
When it comes to filling up your tank, we have two options: a 40mm filler cap system or a backfill system.
In short, the 40mm filler cap system is a gravity-fed filling option and the back-fill system is a pressure fed set up.
40mm Filler Cap
Great for easy day-to-day use. Install a lockable filler cap to the side of your van (supplied with two keys) that has a large 40mm pipe connected to the water tank. This massively opens up your options for filling your tank while on the move because you can pour any fresh water down the filler into your tank, even from water bottles or hoses. You will need to install a drain tap to the tank for emptying.
Back-fill System
Ideal for doubling your tank up as a jet-wash water supply! The back-fill attachment can be used for filling and draining your tank which means you can use the tank to supply your jet wash (jet wash must have the function to draw water).
Easy to install. The backfill attachment does not need to be fitted above your tank to allow gravity to fill the tank meaning it can be installed anywhere on your van. This means you don’t have to cut any holes in your van for a filler cap. Furthermore, you don’t need to install a separate drain tap to your tank if you fit the back-fill attachment below your tank. We supply the back-fill attachment with an aluminium bracket for easy installation, this can be drilled through directly into a fixing point such as the chassis of the van.
Using the back-fill system, you will have access to a pressurised water source with a hozelock fitting(i.e. from a hose) to fill your tank, available at most camp sites.
Strap Kit
We stock a universal tank strap kit made from flexible steel, housed in a plastic cover which protects the strap against damage and corrosion. The strap also has a high breaking load rating of 600kp and suitable for tanks carrying up to 200 litres. The kit comes with a range of universal fitting bolts and nuts which can be adapted to a range of fitting scenarios, meaning there are no specific fitting instructions supplied but giving you the freedom to use the kit in almost all conversion set ups.

Pump
The Shurflo Trail King 20psi pump is a trusted, reliable pressurised pump commonly used in campervans and motorhomes of all sizes. Thanks to its automatic, triple-diaphragm pump and integral pressure switch, water can be consistently supplied at 7 litres per minute meaning it is suitable for showers as well as regular taps.
A great option, the pump is self-priming, quiet in operation, draws only 4.5amp and can run dry without damage. We supply a filter with our kits to preserve the lifespan of the pump and its components.
Accumulator
The Fiamma accumulator is a sensible addition when installing a pressurised pump. The pressure vessel regulates the flow of water in order to achieve a smooth and consistent flow of water from both taps and showers.
Although not technically necessary to pump water from the tank, we recommend using an accumulator if you have long pipe lengths (i.e. when multiple water outlets or boilers are installed) or if you are using a shower.
