About this product:
From Dodo Mat, DEADN DUO is a unique and practical product for campervans. With insulating and soundproofing combined into one self-adhesive backed roll, DEADN DUO is designed for easy application on campervan floors.
Supplied as a five metre roll with a self adhesive back, this product is easy to apply in one go to campervan floors, as opposed to repeatedly laying out numerous pre-cut, small sheets.
The sound proofing layer is a dense 1.5mm butyl rubber that reduces vibrations and also acts as a barrier to airborne noise. The denser rubber has been constructed to be more effective at reducing noise than mineral filled alternatives.
DEADN DUO also features a 3mm Dodo Super Liner top layer, an effective closed cell foam with brilliant thermal and acoustic properties. The closed cell formation helps to insulate any vehicle by reducing the heat lost from the van. Similarly, this will help keep the van cooler on hot days and prevent condensation from forming.
Everything about this product has been designed with campervans in mind. Perfect for large and custom size areas, this product is also soft and flexible so does not need to be heated up before applying.
How much do I need?
We always recommend measuring the area of your conversion that you will cover to determine exactly how much material you need. You should aim to cover 100% of the floor of the conversion area.
Each pack comes as a roll measuring 500mm wide by 5m in length, making the total coverage 2.5 sq. m.
We have put together the following recommendations based on our experience.
1 roll – VW Caddy or equivalent
2 rolls – VW Transporter / Ford Custom
3 rolls – LWB & XLWB Fiat Ducato / Citroen Relay / Peugeot Boxer
The above is only meant as a guide, you may require less or more based on your specific conversion.
How to apply
Dodo Mat Duo can be applied either directly to the vehicle floor, in between your support batons or on top of your support batons and underneath your floor template.
In order to get the best coverage it is recommended to apply over the top of your support batons to eliminate gaps in insulation.
To apply, cut the roll to the length you require. Then simply peel back the paper slightly to reveal the self adhesive layer, stick the self adhesive layer to the edge of the area that you are going to cover. Then roll the length out across the area you are covering, removing the paper and pressing down the self-adhesive layer as you go.
